Pre-season training 2013 – session 2

Notes from first training session with new manager

Good
Warm up exercise very simple with lots of touches and dynamic stretching.
Passing drill very tiring but enjoyable, lots of touches.
When picking teams for game, asked for 1 group of defenders, 1 group of midfielders and 1 group of forwards.

Improvements
New manager did not address the group, introducing himself and letting the players know what was going to happen might have been useful.
Did not make sure all instructions were understood, luckily the drills were easy but could have caused chaos
During drills players should indicate with a signal the foot they want the ball played to, also people serving should offer encouragement or communicate in some way eg telling player to come closer so that the drills instructions can be carried out successfully.
